What is Ruby ANPR?
Ruby ANPR is self-hosted vehicle monitoring software for compatible Hikvision ANPR cameras. It receives camera events, stores the evidence and provides a searchable browser-based dashboard.
Which cameras are compatible?
Ruby ANPR is designed around Hikvision ANPR cameras that can send vehicleDetection events to an Alarm Server endpoint. Camera firmware and menu names vary, so review the camera compatibility guide before purchase if you are unsure.
Is Ruby ANPR cloud hosted?
No. Ruby ANPR is self-hosted on your own compatible PHP/MySQL web server, so the application, database and captured evidence remain on infrastructure you control.
What server does Ruby ANPR require?
A standard PHP/MySQL or MariaDB web server is required. PHP 7.4 or newer is supported, with PHP 8.x recommended for new installations. PDO MySQL, Fileinfo and SimpleXML must be available.
Can the Hikvision camera send directly over HTTPS?
Yes. The recommended Ruby ANPR configuration is the ANPR hostname over HTTPS port 443 with the camera-specific /ingest.php?key=... endpoint. Build V3.0.0 customer setup instructions use this proven configuration.
How does Ruby ANPR know whether a camera is online?
Enable the Hikvision GPS / Positioning Upload at a 60-second interval. Ruby ANPR uses that authenticated GPSUpload event as a lightweight heartbeat, allowing it to show Online / Offline status and Last seen separately from Last capture.
What does Parking Management add in Build V3.0.0?
Parking Management can pair IN and OUT detections into parking sessions, apply maximum-stay and grace rules, manage permits/exemptions, show live occupancy, review low-confidence reads, flag watchlists, analyse parking activity, send scheduled reports and build overstay cases with downloadable evidence bundles. The parking module is optional and can remain disabled where only standard ANPR monitoring is required.
How much does Ruby ANPR cost?

What happens after payment?
