Hikvision ANPR technical guides
Practical setup and troubleshooting guides for the Hikvision ANPR features that matter when sending number-plate events to a self-hosted HTTP or HTTPS endpoint.
Start with the problem you are trying to solve
These guides are based on the Hikvision Alarm Server / HTTP Listening workflow used by Ruby ANPR and the behaviour observed during real deployment testing.
Hikvision ANPR Alarm Server setup
Configure hostname, URL, HTTPS port 443, protocol and the Test function on supported firmware.
Open guide → 02Hikvision ANPR HTTP Listening
Understand the older HTTP Listening interface and how it relates to the newer Alarm Server terminology.
Open guide → 03Why does Hikvision show 1111111?
Understand the synthetic Test event, 0% confidence and UNKNOWN direction before assuming OCR is broken.
Open guide → 04Forward / Reverse and IN / OUT
Configure both directions so your ANPR workflow records arrivals and departures rather than one side only.
Open guide → 05GPS / Positioning Upload heartbeat
Use the 60-second positioning event as a camera-health signal without creating false vehicle captures.
Open guide → 06iDS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZHSY setup
A model-specific guide for the DeepinView ANPR camera used during Ruby ANPR production testing.
Open model guide →The menu name can change. The capability is what matters.
Hikvision firmware generations use terms such as Alarm Server, HTTP Listening or ISAPI event push. Ruby ANPR compatibility is based on whether the camera can push ANPR event data to a configurable HTTP or HTTPS destination.
That is why a newer ANPR model can still be suitable even if its exact model number is not yet in the public list.
26 confirmed Hikvision models
The compatibility page covers confirmed DeepinView G0/G2, TandemVu, parking / entrance and intelligent traffic models, plus models that still require a firmware capability check.
Want the finished monitoring portal?
Ruby ANPR turns compatible Hikvision events into searchable captures, evidence images, IN / OUT movement history and camera-health monitoring.
