The Hikvision ANPR camera performs the plate recognition. Ruby ANPR receives the compatible Alarm Server / HTTP Listening event and turns it into a searchable operational record.

Important compatibility point
Not every Hikvision camera is an ANPR camera
Compatibility is based on the ANPR camera and its event-delivery capability, not simply the Hikvision brand name.
Confirm ANPR / Road Traffic capability
A normal CCTV camera without ANPR analytics is not sufficient.
Check Alarm Server / HTTP event push
The camera needs a compatible way to push plate events to an HTTP or HTTPS destination.
Check exact model and firmware
Use the interactive compatibility checker and the detailed model list before buying.
Configure HTTPS
The recommended production path uses a public hostname, HTTPS and port 443.
Run Test, then a real vehicle
Confirm transport with the Hikvision Test function, then validate OCR and direction using a known vehicle.
